In NC on I-95, Its the Benson exit that is low. If you are 13'6 or over beware. I lost a radar unit off a boat that we had measured at 13'6 and we lost it. We were southbound in the outside lane.

If you have an android device a very inexpensive RV GPS(about $25) is Copilot Live from the Android Market. It has an RV mode. Have limited use with it but on a few short trips it worked real well.

a problem with bridge clearance in your travels or in campgrounds?
Yes. I've had wayyyyy more trouble with untrimmed trees than bridges.

Tree-trimming is last on the maintenance list for many parks. As Jack Horkheimer said "keep looking up!"

Couple of years ago, Garmin took us into downtown Mobile headed for the tunnel! We did turn around! Thanks goodness it was Sunday morning. We were newbies, had never been there before and Garmin was a new toy we were trusting. Now we know better. Lynn

Why would you not go through the I-10 tunnel in Mobile?? Full height semis and container carriers do it all the time. Clearance is 14' plus in all lanes. My Titanium is 12'-8" and we run it whenever we head West or return home. You ARE supposed to turn all propane off at the tanks, but unless you are carrying hazmat that is the only restriction.

2nd day out with our new Bighorn we encountered a tunnel in Washington state that scared us. According to the signs we couldn't make it but I watched the semi trucks sailing thru there with no problems. Not worth the risk. We found an alternate route that proved to be a very interesting detour so we were not sorry we did that. Do your homework before you travel that day, double check what your GPS tells you and error on the side of caution.

you can purchase a POI database of low clearnce info and load it onto to your curent GPS garmin has a poi loader that is free , check out lowclearnce.com, it used to about $20 with free updates for a year, I have used it for a few years not all low bridges are in the data base but it is very helpful and cheaper than the trucker type GPS units
