What services am I likely to find open along the I-15 on New Years day. I assume the travel centres will likely be open or is it a day to stay parked for the day.

Thanks

You will be surprised how many things are open and how few people are out.

Las Vegas will be fully open on New Years day! It is also on I15. In California, all businesses will be open along the route. Don't expect a lot of places to be closed. It is not like Boxing day up there. Boxing day is actually a popular shopping day here.

If you are going south out of vegas expect delays or very slow traffic. It's an annual thing. You may wish to lay over one night. Just MHO. Marv

No real 'travel centres' on I 15 through Montana, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, in the sense of eastern-style travel centres. Only towns with regular stores etc. Even so - pretty sure you will find fuel and food anywhere along the way. Safe traveling!

Yes the south bound traffic out of vegas on new years day is something to stay away from at all cost. They have been up all night and they are trying to get back to LA. You can sit in one spot in traffic for hours.

Sunday south from Vegas is a nightmare. I worked CHP out of Barstow for a while. EVERY Sunday southbound from Vegas is a zoo. Add New Year's day to the mix and I'd avoid it at all costs. Monday won't be any better as it is a holiday too.

I don't know where your will be New Year's Day but you will have three travel centers in Idaho open along I-15--one at the south exit at Idaho Falls, Fort Hall, and at McCammon exit.
