Is anybody else tired of OPG's(other people grandkids).Grandparents don't observe pool times for kids, they let them drive golf carts unsupervised, use adult facilities i.e. pool tables. This goes on at this resort all the time , especially holidays.
I have 18 grandkids, love them all, I just don't bring them to where I and other retirees spend our winters. I know I will get razzed for being a 'grump', everyone thinks their grandkids are somehow entitled to do whatever they want.
I am paying for the amenities provided, not so OPG's can play Marco polo when I am trying to get my morning swim.
and yes, I have reported to management, they would rather not 'offend' anyone. And yes, I know I have the option to not come here and I am real close to making that decision. Am I going to find this same situation everywhere??

Well, maybe it is just the park you are in.
We have spent many winters in Southern California and I can not remember there being a problem with kids.
I feel that is why we have wheels, so if we do not like something we can move.

Tell them that by doing nothing about it, they ARE offending someone----you !! (And probably others that won't speak up)

If this a 55 and over park what are the grandkids doing there? If it is part of the rules they should not even be allowed on the premises much less the common areas. I'm not sure I would return either if they don't enforce their own rules.

Yes I am. They don't pick up after them and keep them on a leash either.

Yes!

We haven't taken our's camping.

But sometimes we get tired of our own grandkids (the two little ones, 2-yr and 1-yr olds) especially. That's when we pack them up and take them home.

I don't have a problem with kids. I have a problem with the parents who do not teach them to respect others. I'm in a very nice park for a few days and the kids next to me have been bouncing a ball in front of my site for hours on end. Hit several cars in ajacent sites, all while the father sat in a chair watching.
Finally I had to speak up after they almost hit my car and the continuous noise finally got on my nerves...

I'd rather have a group of barking grandkids than a single yapping dog....like the three next to us for the last two weeks yapping their, well yapping.

We have a couple of sets of grandparents in our park that because they love (and rightly so) their grandchildren, so should we. We do have a 2 week rule on visiting children, 55/over park. Usually Christmas and Spring Break are the two worst vacation times in here. Let's all go down to Grandma and Grandpa's!

When balls start bouncing off the RV which I worked hard to get, that's when I get my chain rattled. Yes, I do say something to the kids, but it comes back to the parents who don't teach their children to respect others property.

Well, I guess I am just different. I like kids. My grand kids are all grown up and now can't wait for the great grand kids. I just love to be in a CG where there are lots of kids. Their laughing and giggling is music to my ears.
