The first week of December my wife and I went to NJ to pick up a toad from a wonderful fellow MH owner. On the way we were near Flintstone, Md and had a blow out of our left rear inner tire.
We pulled off at Flintstone exit I 68 and looked for a parking lot large enough to turn around and get the tire serviced. We were extremely fortunant to have pulled in the Knot Hole Craft Shop. After asking permission I called for service.
"Gloria" the owner of this magnificent shop treated us like family.
Anybody in that area, stop and visit the shop is very nice and he owners are magnificent.
As for the tire? Never buy tire insurance from SONSIO Road Hazard Program, Golden, Co. They without seeing the tire determined Goodyear had made a defective tire and that tire blew out due to Goodyear defect. SONSIO refused to honor the insurance contract and I was out $600 and 4 hours.

Glad to hear it all worked out! So many times we read here about these special or extended warranties not working out.

Thanks for the heads up on SONSIO Road Hazard Program. I quit buying the road hazard warranty several years ago on my car tires.
Figured if there was a problem I'd just pay for it. So I've saved enough now over the years to cover a new tire if need be.

If it was a Goodyear G-670 RV tire, they were spot on, it was a defective tire without a factory warranty......Everybody knows the G-670 is a factory defect waiting to go bad, except Goodyear, but they still will not warrant it under any condition.

Funny how they can make the determination not to honor a warranty over the phone. Did the mechanic at the service center talk to the warranty company or was this just a simple "NO", with no input from the shop?

Good Year stood behind a G670 275/70 R 22.5 H when we experienced a side wall failure a year ago June. Covered the tire and damage as it was a front tire failure.

As many people have found out, inner dual valve stem extenders can leak and leave that tire subject to low tire pressure which may lead to a blow-out. Did the shop give you any reason why they think the tire failed?

I have been a long time subscriber to MotorHome magazine and have read many horror stories about these "Extended warrenty's", that are pushed upon closing of your motorhome sales.
I always decline these offers. I have emergency road service through both Good Sam and GIECO so I figure that will suffice in most instances.
Anyhoo, I have read many "Hotline" writeups where they have helped recover monies that were denied by these "Extended Warrenty" providers. It wouldn't hurt to give them a try, maybe they could recover some of the funds that you had to spend on the tire. These companies do not want bad publicity in a national motor home magazine.
At least it will provide you a way to get it off your chest.
Just my thoughts

We have CAA RV Plus which covers changing tires, towing etc and over the years I have used it. Fast prompt service and never an issue dealing with them.
This past fall on our trip we stopped at a roadside pull out by Golden and MH would not restart. No Cell coverage there and no phones etc. A nice Bison Truck driver gave me a lift back to Golden. I phoned CAA and they asked what the problem is and where I wanted it taken. Didn't know anything about Golden and service for MH's so they said that if need be they would tow me the 350km (220 Miles) and would not charge me anything. Anyways tow truck owner got in touch with me about 10 minutes later and a half hour later they picked me up and drove back where I broke down. The driver was a mechanic and he crawled under it said the starter had some damage to it and burnt wires. He had it running within a few minutes and said we could either keep going or follow him back to his shop (which we did). a new starter and some new wires and we were good to go. No new starter was available but they had a rebuilt so I got it installed and cost me under $100 including the starter and labour.
Somewhere between Saskatoon and Regina on the way home we blew an inside rear tire. Didn't hear anything or feel anything. Tire was old and tread was not bad, no cracks or anything. These were Chinese tires so in the end I replaced them with Hankooks. No warranty on the old tires but I got Hankooks for a good price.
