Both have been around for a long time. Not familiar with Motorhome Specialists, but PPL is, I believe, the largest RV consignment lot in the country. Good reputation, no high pressure sales-- you can wander the lot/view open coaches for hours if you like.
PPL also has a large parts department including on-line sales.

PPL has sold a DP and a TT for me and we bought our current DP from them. Good experience all times and I would do business with them again. Good selection in all price ranges to look at and choose from. My only warning is don't count too much on their condition ratings (Good, Very Good, Excellent, etc) on the website listings; they seem to me to be rather inflated. Good means trashed out, very good means well worn, and excellent means good condition for its age.

I had a 'parts' experience with Motorhome Specialist. We were driving through western Texas going east when my driver's side windshield wiper broke off flapping around like a fish out of water. I called Motorhome Specialist and they had two arms in stock. I bought both.
They installed the new arm for free. Very nice of them as it takes a somewhat special tool to detach and attach the new one.
Secondly, a friend of mine sold his motorhome at PPL and had a good experience. I think I would put ours there when the time comes to sell.

Since you are in Ohio have you stopped at General RV? They have a location near Cleveland.

I have been "shopping" on the general RV web site for some time. The DW and I went to the Canton / Akron store , we were not too impressed with the salesman that we delt with he seamed rather pushy, and they didn't have too much in our price range. ( nothing like PPL )

I've bought parts from PPL and had a very good experience. I've also browsed the lot at both dealers and was very impressed with both. If there's ever a next time, I will go to both again.
Only difference was that at MHS they provided a golf cart and said have at it, while at PPL we had to walk.
I don't know about General, but a couple or three years ago General's rep was regularly trashed on this forum. YMMV
