I'm looking for a good quality OE replacement for my 2008 Jayco dual axle Feather Sport, model 199.
ST185/80D13
Load 1660 lbs.
Tread - 5 plies
Side Wall - 3 nylon plies
Unloaded trailer weight: 3,550 lbs
Gross trailer weight: 4,750 lbs
Cargo carrying capacity: 1,200 lbs
The OE tires are notorious for getting flat tires. I want something that is durable.
Thanks!

Your ST185/80D-13" are the old tech bias ply. I would look at going with a radial in a same size and load range Maxxis ST 8008

Maxxis makes the best quality ST tire and receives good comments on the forum. They make an ST185/80R13 6 ply tire with a load capacity of 1,480#; this is more than enough for your TT with a GVWR of 4,750#.
Maxxis M8008 ST Radial tires
Make sure you have them balanced and install steel valve stems.
Good luck.

I also run Maxxis, but I use the heavy duty truck rubber tire valves instead of the steel and have had no trouble with them. Do what you think best. JNHO

Thanks everyone for your replies. It seems that Maxxis is fairly popular. I often times see them advertised in Trailer Life Magazine.
When you say balance the tires, do you use wheel weights or balance beads? I run dyna beads in all my vehicles, so I was curious what you do on your trailers.

I have a boat trailer that came with those 13 " wheels and tires.
For a very cheap price I found a set of 14 " wheels with the same bolt pattern and I went to a 215 / 75 R 14.
This increased my load capacity to 1870 pounds per tire from 1480 pounds.
The overall diameter is 26.7 " on the 14 " tires which is 2 inches more diameter. I was able to fit it into the fender.
If you have room in your wheel wells I recommend that move.
I tow my boat long distances at a high rate of speed. I often travel at night . I will get the boat on the trailer late Sunday afternoon and drive ten hours back to Bend. I have had no problems after going to a bigger tire.

Hi, Dyna-Beads should work fine. I have my tire/wheel assemblies spin balanced and run Centramatics. (main reason for the Centramatics, is that trailer drums aren't balanced)

I used balance beads many years ago with no success. I think they have improved, according to what I read on here.
I balance my tires on a Hunter 9700 which allows me to phase match them, tires to the rims.
Have had excellent results.
Good luck.
