Recently we were in Myrtle Beach at Ocean Lakes, we enjoyed our stay.
Got me thinking about going full time when we retire. But where?
I'm concerned Myrtle is to busy in the summer time.
We enjoy the ocean, but it is not required. Warm weather is however...
We have a class a, thus my reason for posting in this forum.
Maybe an RV home style community?
I sent you a PM.

Where do you go?
We spend the summer in British Columbia and go to Southern California in the winter. Usually to Hemet, CA
HEMET? Not very nice there in Dec and january. Stayed there for 3 years, water hose froze and rained too much plus its not a pleasant area.I would highly recommend Indio over Hemet. No comparrison

Check out Ocean Resorts on A1A between Vero Beach and Ft. Pierce FL. Directly on the ocean. Ocean Resorts is NOT listed in any CG directory as it is a Co-Op. They own 1000' of private beach, 180,000 gallon heated and cooled pool, full marina, tennis, clubhouse, Post Office, library, and etc. Google Earth 5101 N. A1A Ft. Pierce FL for a view. You should be able to rent a full hookup site there for $7000.00 per year. Sites are also available for sale. http://oceanresortsco-opinc.org/

We live in a wonderful community called "Lake Ashton" in Lake Wales, FL.
It has an entire section of RV homes that have a 55 foot RV garage attached to the house. They have a very active FMCA RV club. More information can be obtained at the following links:

Jim, put some miles on Nicki and come out to Arizona and get some dry heat on those bones! Lots of RV Community's right in Lake Havasu City. Park down by the London Bridge disconnect your toad and drive around picking out the best spot that you like. Happy Trails, went to your website liked it also.

Small RV Community on US 19 in Homosassa FL called Chassa Oaks. Deeded RV lots. Reasonable price. Not on the water but near enough to drive there. www.chassaoaks.com
There are also seasonal sites that you rent at Quail Run RV park Wesley Chapel, FL (near Tampa). Not near the water.

Try http://willowlakes.com/
We've lived here since 2005 and love it. We have our RV port right next to our cabin. Our park has 326 lots, 250 or so occupied with paved lots and full hookups,to include cable TV and WIFI. This is a friendly, gated community RV park that is very clean with a small town atmosphere with a very reasonable maintenance fee. There is a 9 hole golf course with plenty of golf tournements to keep any golf fananic satisfied. Plus a nice club house and heated pool, with lots of community activities. We have a lot of repeat winter rentals. If you want to be social and have fun, you shoul consider this park.

We have been looking at a resort in Florida for a while with an eye toward retirement. It's Silver Palms RV Village and it is moderately priced and also accepts both motorhome and fifth wheels, which makes for a nice mixture of friends.

The only drawback for us is that Florida to anywhere in the Southwest is a long drive away and we like that part of the country. Saying that, Florida is a nice place to hang-out.
