Planning a trip for this summer, a few days of which we'd like to spend in the Denver area to visit friends. We generally enjoy state parks, and have read good reviews of both Cherry Creek and Chatfield, but wonder which might be better. We will have the rig in our sig pic (TT is 34' long) and will want hookups. We'll probably be arriving via I-70 from Kansas, and will be heading up I-25 to Cheyenne after our Denver stay. Most likely we'll be staying in the area during the week, rather than over a weekend, if that makes any difference.
Thoughts, opinions and route suggestions welcome! Thanks!

Both are excellent although we prefer Chatfield. Many of the sites will handle big rigs (ours is 39') easily, wifi is good and it's an easy hop into Denver. It is definitely located in an area where the views are pretty neat.

Agree with Dennis on this one. He put us onto Chatfield a couple years ago and we were very impressed with their full hookup sites. Just a great state park.
Thanks, folks! From the parks' websites, it looked like Chatfield is definitely more scenic; my reservation would be the haul from there to get heading north on I-25 - or relative difficulty getting into the city to visit friends. Thoughts?
I'm pretty sure I distinctly remember Cherry Creek having full hookups when we stayed there. The whole park seems pretty flat and the spaces are pull through and generous in size. We didn't have to level anything, just drop the trailer and hook up.

If you run 470 on to West, it is not that far off of I-25 for Chatfield. Would be a little more of a drive to downtown but I like Chatfield better.JMHO
