Our coach came with the Sleep Number. After a few trips we found the controller would not work. Mine left me down to the plywood so I slept on the couch. In the morning my DW was also sleeping on the plywood and not happy. To not spoil the weekend I went to Wal-Mart and bought a Coleman inflater for air mattresses and a couple of corks. That worked for the weekend. When I got home I took the unit apart and found a burnt diode. When I called to find out the specs on it they could not give me any info but they would sell me a new unit for only $550 plus shipping & tax. I now have a couple of valves with the barb fitting like you would use on a fish tank and still use the Coleman inflater. When we get the right setting it is OK.

We have one in our 2008 Monaco Diplomat. Summer heat here in Houston is brutal, and takes its toll on rubber connectors.

Last fall the bed began to lose pressure on one side and would be almost flat overnight. Using the "spray bottle soap" trick, I found the tube connectors were leaking. A little silicone lube fixed it for a while, but soon I'll need to replace the rubber seals, or maybe even the entire tube set.

We have a sleep number in our home also. I like them both. Of course it stinks when something isn't working right. I have thoughts, occasionally, of replacing the one in the motorhome with a memory foam mattress, but want to wait as long as possible.

it takes a while to find your number. you may not be comfortable until you do find your number.. it took me almost a month to find the right number. as the mattress changes presure as it warms up. my solution was to use a under mattress heater in the winter, on a timer so that the mattress is at body temp a hour or two b4 going to bed.. i also use a matt of exercise foam and a layer of carpet under the mattress heater. as my trailer has a storage area to the outside under the bed... i added 1" of foam insulation to the storage compartment wall and top, which helps. along with a poly blanket over 1" foam for a replacement head-board...
be sure to deflate the mattress b4 traveling. as it will eventually start leaking from over pressure on mountain passes. the over pressure issue could cause the pump/compresser to fail as well...
the dual mattress is a pain in the &*^R* as someone is going to end up in the seam between during the night...

The "seam" is less of an issue if you use some type of memory foam topper...at least its work out very well for us. I sleep like a "baby" on ours..that is after the four dogs and my wife settle down. lol What better endorsement is that....my four "girls" just love it!!!!

We have had our queen size Sleep Number bed for about 3 years with no problems and we both love it! We do use a memory foam topper however.

We have the cheapest model without a pressure display. We just inflate or deflate our side until we are both comfortable. We have had no issues with any disparity between the height of the mattress from one side to the other.

It is the most comfortable bed we have had!

Ours came with one, it wouldn't hold air and wasn't comfortable in the middle between the airbags, Replaced it with a pillowtop.

Maybe it's just me but if I have to add something on top and/or something(s) on the bottom to make it comfortable then why spend the extra money for the ability to have it full of air? I don't want to have to worry about several things on top of the mattress if I don't have to. I understand for cold weather that maybe a heating mattress pad would be on top but anything else just makes it more complicated IMHO.
We have a double pillow top at the S&B and if it would fit in the MH we would switch it out for the regular mattress that is there now. But the one at the S&B is a king and the MH is queen. Lucky for us it is a normal queen and not the so-called MH size queen so we could (and probably will) get a pillowtop for the MH.

We have a King sleep number in the MH, controlers went bad twice, while in use it has to be constantly adjusted. One side goes flat and the other side gets hard as a rock when not in use. When coach come's out of winter storage this spring I can't wait to get rid of the thing and put a pillow top in instead.

At best 50/50.
And you have to Warm it up, cool it down, release pressure for altitude, adjust and replace diodes, check bladder, and lastly, pay through the nose for it to begin with.
I may just bring another wife with me next trip.
Has anyone tried the temperpedic?
