Hi all,
Has anyone ever travelled through Montana, Idaho and South Dakota in June? Here in Vancouver, we can look forward to freezing cold weather and 30 days of rain. I just wondered if June was the rainy season in the northern US.

We have done Idaho in June and not bad at all.
Once you cross the coast mountains you are out of the rainy season.

all U have to do is watch the US weather service channel
Idaho weather is the same as the BC Interior weather as there only 150 miles away.If its raining in the okanagan you can bet its raining in Northeren Idaho.Cant speak for SD as thats a far distance from Idaho

June can be a chilly time of year in Idaho. It varies from one year to the next and also dependa on where you are within the state. If you find yourself in less than perfect weather, you can probably move a hundred miles or so and be in great weather. That's the great thing about Idaho!

The high areas of Montana are subject to snow in June, even around Butte and Dillon areas, but usually nothing serious and not often a problem.

I have lived in Montana or N Idaho for the last 40 years. You can get lots of rain in N Idaho in June. Once you cross the Rocky Mountains to the East side it is a drier climate. Snow is possible in MT in June, but usually only in the high elevations. I wouldn't worry about it at all, you should be fine.
