I pulled the stove, sink, and the old countertop out of the storage spot, this morning. Man, most of that has seen it's days. I'll have to make some decisions on what stays and what goes. Of course, I am way over time and over budget. I'm not getting an attitude about any of it, just keep on working my way through the last bits of the interior.
I wonder if anyone has ever finished a trailer rebuild "on budget", lol. I'm also over budget, but my attitude towards this trailer has changed. Originally it was going to "get me by" until I could find what I wanted. But now I like it so much I plan to keep it, so it doesn't bother me to put a little extra in it. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, UP.
Yeah, I'm just a cheap SOB so I count-the-beans no matter what I'm doing. That, and I'm now so old I get sticker shock when I buy a box of screws. On this project, though, I quit bean-counting and just get what I need. I do have a lot of the essentials in storage. I haven't had the courage to tally everything, that will come at the end. After the interior is done, I still have everything exterior to deal with--brakes, bearings, hitch wiring, etc.. At one time, I was thinking about doing two or more of these at the same time, creating a fleet to head North. I'm glad I didn't overload myself with that plan. It would be interesting to know what the total time for manufacture is in today's modern RV plants. I'm guessing it may be a little shorter.
I thought I'd be under $2500.... I'm now shooting for less than $3500
With the price of RVs in general, I too think the amount of $$ that Paige and I are spending is totally in line and feel WE will all have a better product at a better price and get thing how we want them VS adjusting to things we didn't like about a "bought TT".
I would hope they get a few done a week....
If I ...
..knew what I was doing
..had all the parts and pieces available
..had every tool I needed at hand, didn't put them away every day
..had an assembly line approach with 4-6 people working on each TT
..had a large building with hydraulic tables and sky cranes
..had a plan and stuck to it....:
and finally if nothing had to be edge banded....I'd have Diddums done in time for ski season
Get back to work you guys

Agreed, on the outcome, I can see where a bigger renovation gets a whole lot more livability than a store-bought.
Hey, how about some old skis for edge-banding, lol? Might be kind of difficult cutting but it would be cool to have a ski face on the edge of the counter for a ski chalet rig. Diddums deserves this.
UPbuilder got me to thinking about the vent hood and, since I have a bunch of other stuff I'm cleaning up and painting, today, I thought I'd go after the vent hood too. I found that a previous resident had decided to live on the light bulb (it's working like that BTW). Those mud daubers can get into anything, can't they?
I have a buddy who thinks we can use this years rock skis as arms for an awning, I haven't seen his thoughts written down but sounds neat and even the one I Imagen would be cool.
I have that same hood, sans mud dobers.
I'm going hammer brown.
Found some $7 oops paint, it's a bit dark but $7
That pic makes it look very orange, its more of a frothy sucking chest wound.

Hang in there, I will be devicing soon.
I took on one of those projects, today, that I was putting off, installing the shore power inlet. I still need to get an outside cover for it but it is in and the electrical work under the countertop is done, for now. Now I can get on to installing the sink and countertop, the stove, and the vent hood.
