"I passed one RV that had black water spraying out the top vent like a geyser."

Let's see. How can this happen? Maybe the park's sewer main backed up?

Ah, yes, financial advice for the foolish masses...
Of course, there is a good chance you will be DEAD before you save up enough to buy the RV, but that's OK, you can die secure in the knowledge that inheritance taxes and medical bills will eat up most of your savings, and there is a pretty fair chance the lawyers will get the rest!
BUT, you didn't go in debt for any toys!
good advice, no doubt, and I have heard (and pretty much ignored )it for many years. I choose to enjoy life the best I can, and if that means financing "toys", I will do so, so that I can enjoy them.

I agree. Especially with young families, time is not on your side to let them experience camping and the outdoors.

"7: Don't drop glass beer bottles down the toilet and into the black tank. (This was on a used TT that was completely trashed due to some heavy partying.)"

At least make sure its empty first. The beer bottle, not the toilet.

He said he learned from others.

I will add a few of those were quite good... Best laugh I've had this morning and in part because I've seen a couple of those before,, Same as he did it seems.

When it comes to things you should not do.

Some folks can learn by reading and/or listening to warnings.

Some folks can learn (As it apperas the O/P did) by observation of others.

And some people have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.

(NOT something I ever felt compelled to do.... and I grew up in "electric Fence" country. In fact I slept not 100 feet from one. )

Nope just some moron that left the gatet valve closed to the black tank and forgot he'd turned on the in tank cleaner/scubber/washer.

I thought it was funny. Thanks for putting them out there. I have seen some of those things and others. I say ignore the financial wizard snobs and those who wish to argue every point of every post and enjoy life, it is but a vapor and then it's gone.

#11 When you have a 33' TT and you are not used to tandem axles and drop the tungue jack be sure to block the wheels. Had a guy with a brand new TT (just came fromt the lot) to camp and I hear a loud crash. Can't figure out if it one of my kids or someone ran into something and look down the road and find the $30K TT crashed on the ground. He had never chocked his wheels before. Its where my 3 tons bottle jack came into place to help.

ALWAYS....ALWAYS....ALWAYS... have a spotter on the rear of a long brand spankin new TT when turning in or out of a tight spot with lots of trees.

did you know the back end of those things swings way way out in a tight turn........well i do now, after the awning hit the ground.

Dar

Drats! Wish we'd read this one before we did the same thing on our last trip with our newer trailer. I almost cried because I was so intent on the tree trunk that I forgot to look up and missed a branch...that took out our awning.
