If you are a left hander like me, you know that we are forced from birth to do many, many things right handed. Its a right handed world out there.
Except one notable place - the drive-thru bank teller machine. The bank I go to has a drive thru as well as an outside walk up that's about 4 steps from a parking space. The drive thru has to be on the driver's side. I get a kick out of right handers that pull up, put their car in park, unfasten their seat belt, open the door as far as possible, lean out or even put one foot on the ground and push all the buttons with their right hand. It looks painful.
I've come to the conclusion that most righties only use their left arm for balance.

Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.

In all the times I've sat in line waiting for my turn at the drive-up ATM over the years, I don't ever recall seeing anyone go through the contortions you described. I have on occasion seen someone open their door rather than reach through the window, but they still used their left hand to operate the machine. I just assumed they had a problem with their window that prevented opening it. Now, I have seen someone using the Braille symbols on a drive-up ATM... Fortunately, she was the passenger in the back seat of a taxi.

Ambidextrous. Used both hands in school, one doing math, one doing English etc until someone told teacher. She said stop that. That's of the devil. You have to choose one or the other. That really scared me.
Been told I'm left dominant but have always used right, mostly since then.

I knew a girl in college that could write with either hand and you couldn't tell the difference in her writing. We all envied her when it came time for an essay exam. It worked out great for her, since she became a teacher. She could write on the blackboard right-handed so she didn't erase what she just wrote with the heel of her left hand.

I write and eat left handed. If I tried to eat right handed I'd have holes in my face. I do everything else right handed. I have a brother who is right handed but kicks a football with his left leg.

It's pretty common for toddlers to use both hands. They're still trying to figure out which one works best for them.

An occupational therapist once told me that people who are ambidextrous typically aren't very proficient at using either hand. I don't know if that's true or not, just repeating what she said.

I used to be "either handed" I could work right or left handed.

But I had a fall and injured my left hand and no longer have a full range of motion in it. I still do many jobs left handed though. I can even eat left handed if I happen to be sitting to the left of a south paw.
