The price is expected to be $79000 on the pre-order page, upper right corner. Fleet prices are lower.

Too many 'Electrifying Thought's = fried brain.
Not enough snow yet to keep you busy, eh Seldom?

I like solar as much as anyone. One on my camper, which helps some, and 5K+ on my house, which helps a lot.
But helping to replace a diesel engine in a truck: not on this planet in my lifetime (if ever).

I honestly don't know what will eventually replace the internal combustion engine, or if that will happen in most of our lifetimes.

I do know that fuel prices will only go up, especially if we experience another Katrina-like natural disaster or continued increases in Middle Eastern instability. We are one calamity away from $5.00 (or more) per gallon gas prices, and when it occurs we will have to take alternative powered vehicles seriously.

This new vehicle may not be the answer, but it's a start. JMO

It is not my intent, nor should there be a political debate on the subject, but everything I read on the subject says to me the price of oil is self imposed. The oil is available, but politics prevent it.

Wayne,

You may well be correct, but that won't change what we pay at the pump. Just wait for it..... the spike in prices is coming.

I price increase is, and in my opinion, will always be there. I really don't know why the spikes, but tend to believe it is speculators.

Oh well, life goes on.

I read China will take over as largest importer of oil within the next 18 months.
US demand may no longer dictate the price. Even with usage reduction here the price can still rise.

speculator~speculation/commodity(ies)/instability/availability/stock prices = perception

....its perception and not reality that makes our World go 'round

Back to the subject:

I got a better look today at the auto show. They basically dodged the towing question (implied it would be fine but wouldn't quote any numbers) and there is equipement that eats up the front of the truck bed so you lose hauling space.
