We are considering a new KZ StoneRidge 36 RK. We are having difficulty finding reviews on this unit. Anybody have any opinions on the unit or the company?

Thanks. I've looked through all of those. I guess I'm just looking for more detailed info from people who have used these units. Like what might go wrong and will the company be easy to work with if we need them? I think we have found a great dealer. That seems most important when people start having issues with their fiver.

Welcome to the fiver world, BUT CHECK your weights carefully prior to purchase. Your sig indicates a 04 F 250 as your TV. You will be close to the trucks max GVWR when under tow. I like to be about 10 to 15% under the trucks GVWR, for safety reasons.

The RV Consumer Group is a source for ratings and info on all brands. Unlike reviews in Trailer Life, etc, the RV Consumer Group does not accept ads from the industry. They are entirely subscriber based

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

I have checked this several times, but unless I am missing something you have to become a member to see the reviews.

Is this correct?

The Stoneridge has only been around for a couple of years , I believe that started making them in 2009 or 2010 ?? They stopped making the Montego Bay and the Escalade at that time and was only making the Durango's.. Saw a market for a cheaper - (cost.. not quality)than the 2 listed units , they said it was a mix of a Montego Bay and a Durango.. Not sure how many have been sold but I have not seen any on the road or camping.. The manufcturer backs their units and is very easy to work with.KZ also is one of the companies that offer a standard 2 year warranty .. I purchased a KZ product in 2008 and if and when we want or need a new fiver , KZ will get my first look !! Good Luck , Happy Camping...Joe

While planning for retirement, we looked into full-timing and wanted a unit that would serve our needs reliably. Like you, I had no idea what was out there, let alone what I wanted. I used this board and others and decided our next unit will be a KZ. They seem to go the extra mile for customers. Be aware, all things mechanical break. Your brand new, expensive, top of the line land yacht will break. I have no problem with that so long as the manufacturer holds up their end. KZ seems to do that as do several others.

P.S. Old RV'ers are just as hard headed and opinionated as the rest of the world so I try to throw out the best and worst reviews and go by the average.
Have fun,
Jim
