Anyone know of an extension cord for Charge Wizard ?
Otherwise extending it 5ft w/.....same size wire be any problem ?
Thanks

use some phone extension cord wire. In the ones I've seen you CANNOT use a phone jack adapter, the end on the charge wizard isn't the standard phone cord jack, it is the end for the cord between the phone and handset, not phone and wall. Don't recall the RJ#. When I needed a longer one, I just got a 25' piece of phone cord, opened the wizard, unsoldered the wires, soldered in the new cord and then crimped on the correct RJ connector. If you don't have access to a crimper and correct RJ connector, just splice phone cord into the existing cord. My charge wizard cord is 25' long going between the converter in the pass through to the utility cabinet in the dining area. Works fine.

Extending it is no problem. I did that on one of mine without issue. All you need is your choice of length of 3-conductor cable, and when inserting it into the CW's cable, make sure you keep the color coding correct.
I did the CW on my emergency battery system at home, inserting almost 10ft of cable into the CW's cable. I ended up emailing PD on this issue, and they told me it would be no problem, just make sure that each wire in the original cable stays connected together via the inserted cable (ie - red to red, black to black, etc), and that a cross-connection would damage the CW.
So, fire up your soldering gun, and have at her. Works like a charm!
Good point. I originally suggested that the wire simply be cut and a commercial telephone cord be used...but I withdrew the post when the next poster said that telephone cord was NG (which I interpreted as no good).
