I've read, reread and REREAD the instructions for towing my new Jeep Wrangler Sport 4X4 and still can't believe what I read so I need some help from Wrangler owners.

After going through all the steps, the instructions call for the gearshift to be in PARK before driving off. This seems WAY counterintuitive to me, so what am I missing?

As mentioned earlier be sure to put the transfer case in neutral. We've towed our 2004 Wrangler Sport 4x4 over 65,000 miles this way without any problems.
