Never in a 40' MH, but when I drove charter bus I ran it many times. No problem, just not fast. In the summer there is a reasonable amount of traffic, winter there is snow.
Ya know that MT#83 ends a Clearwater? From there you would need to go east, across Rogers Pass, towards Great Falls, then south via Helena, or back west and pickup I-90.
But the road is a pleasant drive, many RVs and tourists. Don't think you are going to make time, cause you ain't. Me, unless I just wanted a pleasant drive, I would take US93

Did it, but not with a 40', we had a 30' Class C & toad, 50'+/- total' nice, scenic ride, no problems.

Except in winter, I always prefer taking #83 to #200; turn east toward Lincoln; turn right on #141 to US 12; turn west to go back to I-90 at Garrison Junction; take i-90 to Butte. Good route; lots of scenery - watch for deer. Lots of campgrounds and lakes. Nice.
Taking the route through Helena requires that you go over McDonald Pass and also a steep downgrade into Butte. Certainly doable; but I prefer the above route which also bypasses the traffic in Helena.
If Butte is your destination, it may be shorter to take MT 200 from Clearwater to MT 141 to U.S 12 over McDonald Pass to Helena. You could then use I 15 to Butte. This route shouldn't be a problem with a MH and toad. Of course, shorter may not always be faster!
Just another option.
