Got the genset out today and it looks like the temp sensor is bad. It was about 60 degrees and it measured 50 ohms. Already have a new one ordered along with a belt and thermostat. Also ordered the guage panel- a bit pricey but will definitely help with troubleshooting in the future. Will also check the glow plugs while it's out. Any other suggestions of things to do while I am there?

I figured that is what it was. And there is not much else to do, what you stated are the main things! Hope all goes well when servicing!

Thanks for keeping me updated!

These sensors are pretty bad. Is your genset on a slide out? I sure do wish mine was as i would not have had to fork out all that cash for labor to get a cheap part changed, I would have just done it myself!

I wish I had access to a fork lift. heck I could probably buy one if i didn't have to pay for that labor. LOL

Catallison- just wanted to let you know. I pulled out my temp sensor today. Just like in the link you sent me, the sensor broke. I cut a hole similar to the way the guy in that link drilled a hole and used an easy out to get the rest out. I don't know what kind of sealant they put on it but it is crazy how tight it was.

No slideout. I slid it out with a forklift. I did it last time by pulling it with an atv down some ramps onto a trailer. Much easier this time.

Squirting a little ether at it while you're turning it on will clean it!! :-)

Don't let them scam you. It took me longer to get all the tools together than it did to get it out. Probably could do it in 20 minutes if you did it every day- took me about 30. Only 5 things to disconnect and 4 bolts holding it in.
