Took Haylie in for her checkup and her lymphnodes are swelling. Decided not to do chemo again. She was in remission for 10 months. She's now on prednisone. Through the vet's tears, she said Haylie has about a month. Haylie did have fun yesterday running around with a piece of firewood playing keep-away from Otis. We'll keep her happy. We love her!! So sorry the lymphoma is back. It's just not fair that our furkids have to deal with the "C" word too.
I have boxers aka "cancer factories" as my vet tells me. While we've not dealt with lymphoma, we have had some MCTs. There is a treatment that apparently works for MCTs and some have said it also seems to work on other tumors as well as lymphoma. It involves giving benadryl & tagamet for a few weeks and many say it does shrink tumors.
Here is the dosage for a boxer:
For boxers recommended dosage
Use 1 Tagamet 200 mg and 1 Benadryl 25 mg every morning
and night for 3 weeks.
Tagamet/Benadryl Preventative Therapy Treatment twice a year.
The Preventative Treatment is 1 tab Tagamet and 1 tab Benadryl.
twice a day for 2 weeks.
Of course for a smaller dog, the dosage might be different. If you Google the ingredients, you'll find a lot of info on using it for MCTs but not as much for lymphoma.
I wish the best for Haylie. (((HUGS))

I'm sorry Agnes, I and others here were hoping she'd have so much more time.
She's such a gorgeous Goldy and we all can tell how loved she is, my heart goes out to you and Abbey too. It will be hard on her also.
Enjoy every minute you have with Hayley.

I am so sorry to hear about Haylie. May this month with her be filled with happy memories through the pain. We had about 3 months with Taz after we knew his heart was failing. There were many tears but also many, many joys as we cherished each moment together.
You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I sorry to hear about Haylie...treasure each day. I was able to keep my Mozie (poodle) going for 6 extra months...it was a blessing to have him each day, but painful knowing his time was limited.
