Now that we've been told that pretty much anything goes on this forum, I'm outta here.

Dot & Bill have traveled a lot in Mexico and know a fair bit about RV'ing down here. I knew them when they lived in North Vancouver. They now live in Guayabitos. They do make money off their web site, but it contains a lot of useful info.

Sorry to see anyone leave but WE do not support any of the social network sites as the data bases is not safe as well as the way the sites use the info posted. We feel much safer and better taken care of on THIS site!!!!

what is wrong with you people??? this is the best RV info for travelling in Mexico and south - bar none! yes, there are some controversial topics - get that on all forums! good luck where you are going - maybe you will be "the one to listen too"! we will stay on this forum - the one that has the "real" info.

Facebook sucks. No security and your life becomes an open book. That is if you actually have a life. The support on this forum is great. There are RV'rs who travel and stay in all areas. People who live here full time and others who have many years of a professional attachment to Mexico. When there are changes to anything in Mexico( car permits, FMM's, tolls, gas prices, new sources for insurance, repair facilities, new and closed RV parks, routing and highway changes and more) they will be posted here as they happen. Our Mod. is fair and just. What more could one ask for. We don't need "no stinking" Facebook. Others have tried to start Mexico RV forums and they have all been gross failures with no posts. Good Luck!

I guess you will never know what you are missing on FB. Many areas and RV parks have Facebook pages. Looks like we can,t post them here as the FB page Name/URL was deleted from the OP.
Great to find out whats happening in one specific area. events .shows. great bars ,Musicians and Cafes etc..
example
I am Amigos with all the great Bars and cafes here in Maz I know what ,when, and where all the good music is playing..

I have used the un-named site since 2005, before it was even connected to facebook and it was a .com. Bill and Dot do have good road logs that I've used and they have reviews of most RV parks, just like the book that I won't name by M & T Ch---h. BTW, I find the Facebook site rather annoying, and don't usually read it. I do check this site often though. Wish I could see what Tom deletes though, but only for entertainment.

The rules on this forum can be rather tight at times, but it's their forum, so all you can do is try to follow them. You have to remember this place is owned by Affinity who are in the business to make money. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it also means they don't like attempts at free advertising. The big problem here is that rv.net is a general RV forum, not a Mexico specific one, so you have people taking a look here who have never RV'ed in Mexico, then deciding to offer their armchair opinions on its safety. The advantage of a specific Mexico forum or web site is that those folks seldom waste their time to try & find them. Here,I am sure, the moderator has his hands full trying to keep the armchair naysayers at bay, & IMO does a pretty good job of it.
