What about the Leaf inside Antenna, has any body have one and if so does it work. Putting it on the wall sound like a good idea, not on the roof.

I may have missed it, but how did you cover up the oversized hole made by the builder. I'm guessing that the Jack is mounted backwards to cover that issue?

Yep, the base is mounted backwards.
