I have the Model 4400, 18,000 lb Pullrite Superglide. While towing the trailer from Point A, AZ to Phoenix AZ all was fine until I exited the freeway and heard and felt a clunk when I braked. I pulled over when it was safe and could see nothing wrong so I proceeded a few miles to my final destination. There were 3-4 stoplights before I arrived and the clunk was heard and felt each time I slowed down.

On arrival I unhitched and then I noticed abnormal front back play in the slider. Fully understanding how this system works, I reached under the cam to feel the roller bearing and nothing was on the bolt but the bearing race the bearing was laying on the truck bed.

I am dead in the water until I can get this bearing replaced. I have called every Pullrite dealer in Phoenix and none stock parts. One referred me to Pullrite directly so I called them. They wanted a questionnaire filled out and several photos which I provided. Since it is late Friday, I do not see getting even an answer much less parts until Monday.

Has anyone ever had this experience and know if the bearing is something that can be purchased at a bearing supply place? There is no bearing number that I can find.

i had the same problem, but more time, so I ordered the update directly from Pullrite. It is not a bearing anymore, it is a solid metal round disk. I have had it on there for 3 years and it works great. It wasn't expensive, if you are waiting on warranty, just pay for it and have them overnight it.
Good luck

Newer version is like this - a much better design as a sleeve bearing:

I have the old design as it is a ball bearing with slightly rounded outer edge.

Thanks for the photos. I never heard from them on Friday so I hope to get an answer on Monday. Either they will send me one under warranty or I'll buy one.

I just spoke with Pullrite and they are sending me the new style roller for about $45. It is not covered under warranty because it is considered a wear item.

Anyone on this site know if this "new bearing" is universal to ALL SuperGlides?

I have noticed (heard) a little slop in my 16K version lately. When it stops raining here I will have to take a closer look at my hitch. I think this replacement part would be worth "having in stock" in my 5th wheel bag of tricks.

See you out there,

The bearing part number is the same for the 16K, 18K and 24k PN 410304

Reach underneath and "feel" your bearing. It should rotate smoothly with no play. If it has any play I'd replace it ASAP. Also, tie your slider down when not pulling your camper so that it does not bang from front to back when starting and stopping.
