I'm selling my generator and have an ad on craigslist, but haven't gotten any nibbles. Do you think RV trader might be a better place?

It has to be priced right compared to what a new one sells for, not locally but online as most of them have free shipping. You have to repost it on Crags' at least once a week to keep the ad at the top of their listings, You have to show your asking price or nobody will contact you. I've had very good luck with Craigs.

Be sure to include a picture. I don't respond to any ad on craigslist if I don't see a picture. I don't want to waste my time and gas to drive to see junk.

I don't look at ads without price or photos on Craigslist... so the above suggestions will help.
Also, remember there are a lot of generators coming from China at prices so low you wonder how they can make money. I just saw a 1000w unit for $39.00 in an ad. So someone doing comparison shopping and not savvy enough to realize the difference between a Yamaha and MakeMUch Powersan unit may look at your price and head over to O'reillys to get the brand new MakeMUch Powersan and think he's getting a better deal until the generator stops running after the second use. Now he's got a brand new door stop.

I wouldn't even put an RV in RVTrader. 95% of the ads are dealers now. I have had great luck selling and buying on craigslist with all kinds of vehicles and merchandise over the last 10 years. Pics and price in the ads are a must. Try another catagory if you get no bite from where it's posted.

That is one of the first things I learned about RV-ing -- the three types of generators. Red, blue, and all the rest. for example, that Boliy has some pretty decent specs, but watch the 12 part Youtube video about attaching a remote start to it compared to sticking a remote start in a Yammy 3000iSEB (which consists of using a harness already in place.)
Yes, the Yammy is more expensive, but in a crowded camp, I have asked people if the noise bothers them, and so far, most people don't even hear the generator, much less find it loud or distracting.

We just recently had an ice storm and the power was out. My Eu2000 was running as was a neighbor behind us. I could hardly hear my genny over the racket the other one was making on the other side of the fence. The little Honda ran for 36 hours straight keeping the fridge going.
