Click on "Bookmarks" on the menu bar, and then select "Show All Bookmarks". In the new window that opens, click on "Import and Backup" on the menu bar, and select "Restore". Pick a date that's before the entries were deleted, and confirm the selection.
If you do not see the "Menu Bar" (File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks...) at the top of the Firefox window, right click in a clear area of the address bar and check the "Menu Bar" entry in the drop down list.
Try selecting the oldest date first...if that fails, try this.
See if you can export them (same process but select "Export to HTML file") to an HTML file. If so, you can likely rebuild the HTML file and fix error(s) that may be keeping the file from loading.
Go thru the process and watch where the HTML file gets saved - may be your desktop or another directory.
Tell us how big the file is and Ill suggest some options to restore.
I was born in Great Falls, Mt. My parents moved when I was 5. I found them when I was 10 - they were in California.
I use MozBackup to back up Firefox favorites and settings along with Thunderbird emails, folders, settings.
You can download it HERE
I also use Microsoft's Synctoy2.1 to back up my Desktop and my data files along with the Firefox and Thunderbird profiles that Mozbackup backs up so I end up with a double backup of FF and TB.
you can download it HERE
The FF profile is in: C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxx.default
The TB profile is in C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default

Clay is right but you wont see the directories by navigating with MyComputer or Explorer - they are hidden.
Most simple way to get to the "current" logged in profile is enter about:support in the URL line. Under Application Basics, click "Show Folder". This should put you into the profile or Roaming and you can then navigate. You may need to navigate up 1 directory level.
The other way is in the Start/Run box enter "%appdata%" without the quotes. This will do the same.
It would be a wise idea to locate your bookmarks folder and save some of these files to another directory like C:\Temp or something similar.
Same topic different problem. New computer, Win 7, Firefox 11. The "Bookmark this page" , " choice " function to get the correct folder does not work. The older computer with FF 10 did work.
I was unable to find a solution in FF help.
Any one experience the same problem? Bob

Just tested FF 12 all works OK here. Do both the "choose" menu option & the "\/" button above the blue "i" fail?
