My rubber roof wraps over the side of the roof about 6 inches. It is held down by a metal strip running the length of the MH. In one section, the rubber is pulling away from the metal strip. My local RV dealer wants $2000.00 to remove the strip and repair the problem. He's nuts. Can I reseal it with Eternabond tape? I could run it the length of the MH and seal the entire length of the rubber roof. I really don't want to remove the strip but I really don't want a leak either.

Your rig is a 2000 model year right? Your service person may be seeing other issues with a roof of that age. Yes you could probley fix it short term the way you suggest. I would just bite the bullet and have it done. Have him pressure check all the windows and throw in a warranty for that price, which is not that out of line. From what I have read the quality of that brand is not the best. Always hard to part with the mondy I know. Best of luck.

I would pull the strip off. Tape it with Eternabond, put the strip back on it, then coat the repaired area including the strip with the two part EDPM Liquid Roof. Problem solved.

I would not pay anyone $2k for any roof repair I'm capable of doing myself!!

Pull the strip, tape it, put the strip back on and coat as previously suggested.

Good luck!!

One thing I omitted. Put a strip of lap sealant along the upper edge of the tape before applying the EDPM coating.
