We have never had to run the house air. Dash air works great. 35ft Dolphin

We installed clear shower curtains behind the front seats and we were comfortable coming across Great Basin Natl Park last summer when it was 100+ outside using only the dash air and driving into the sun.

I bet a shower curtain helps a lot.

If it's above 94F outside, and driving towards the sun, I run the genset and both roof airs. It burns about 3/4 gal of diesel per hour, but it's worth it.

The dash air on my 98 discovery would hurt you it was so cold. Even in Vegas with 114 temps it still did the job my wife had to keep a blanket over her.

Now with my last rig and the new one it just keeps you from sweating in really hot weather. My old 98 had R12 and it worked better for sure.

If it's just me and the co-pilot, the dash air is fine. If anyone is sitting mid-cabin, then we turn on the generator and run two of the roof a/c's

Rarely have to run the roof ac, but I added a shut off valve in the hot water line and bypass the temp sensor so the compressor runs all the time.

This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

Actually it does! I read about using them on this forum and laughed at first but after trying them out ($20) I know they work. The A/C on recirc(MAX) is not cooling the rest of the coach, only the front area. My A/C system is the same as a majority of owners here. It's a cheap remedy. They look crappy and trailer trash when we camp but I have since given up hope of pleasing everyone.
