I read about Letchworth State Park in my “Outdoor Photography” magazine and decided I want to go there this year. Has anyone been there and can you give me your feed back of the camp ground? Which sites would be good which to stay away from etc. Good things or bad things about the State Park….
We have the TT in my signature but usually the kids like to sleep out in the tent. Do they allow both the RV and tent on a single site?
It's a beautiful campground - really scenic and lots of hiking trails. There is a pool but you have to drive to it from the camping area - things are really spread out! They have different loops for pets and non pets - some of the loops are closer to the playground area. There isn't a lot right nearby so stock up on groceries and things first and if you have bikes I would definitely bring them. I wrote down what loops we liked - I'll have to find that notebook ....

Have camped at Letchworth and liked it very much. Nice campground sites. Lots of trails and things to do in park. Be sure and see the three falls in the park too. Very remote and quiet.
I've been there to photograph many times & camped last Fall. Beautiful waterfalls, lots of hiking trails, and balloon rides are available. As others have said it is quite spread out; the major waterfalls are on the other end of the park from the campground.
Was there last June. The park is very big , but lots to see. If you bring bikes also bring helmets. New york law requires them. We had our bikes but no helmets and we missed out on not riding around the park.
It is a beautiful spot to see. Be sure to get supplies, as it is quite a ride to the store.
You choices in sites depend on whether or not you need to be in a pet loop. We found that there were quite a few spots that were full of standing water at the bottom of loop 700. We were in 707, which was huge but had quite a slope. Others in our group were in 708 (far away from 707) which was small for your rig, 719 which was so wet and small there was barely room for one tent, 713 was wet, 705 which was nice, 715 which was also wet, 711 which was good, 709 was good, 702 was very good. You should be able to do a trailer and a tent, or 2 tents (but not 3). You might end up with tent on gravel.

Another thing to consider when camping at Letchworth with younger children,is some of the sites back up to the gorge. We camped there years ago when our kids were little. After setting up camp, the kids came back from exploring and told us to "come look at the big hole". Our site was right near the gorge. We packed up and moved so we did not worry the rest of our stay.
It is a beautiful park and the Glen Iris Inn in the park was a nice fancy night out restaurant.
