When I was around age 5 a border collie wandered onto our farm and decided to stay. I named him Big Cap. People would ask me why I called him that. "Cause it's his name." Seemed simple enough to me. To this day I don't know where I came up with that name.

We also had an amber colored cocker spaniel. She was already named when we got her -- Rosin, for her color.

When my daughter went to college she gave me her Yorkie "just for a year" (which turned into 13 years). Her name was Katie. A few years later I met the woman who would become my wife, Katy. I learned to be real careful scolding that dog.

Cinder - Black lab loved laying infront of a fire.
Taggart - Black lab...name of the road where we got him.
Mootpoint..Moot for short - Mootpoint with the wife when I brought her home.
Blanche - Shihtzu-Yorkie cross..From a trailer park trash story.
Otis - Shihtzu-Bichon cross..after the town drunk in the Andy Griffith show.

First three have passed...miss them all...
