Ours are "Dover," and "Bristol."

How funny. I live in Bristol and work at the local PetSmart. I've never heard of a dog around here named Bristol.

When my daughter gave me a cute little chihuahua puppy 12 years ago, I named him Ricky because to me he looked like a Ricky
Then 10 1/2 years ago, she gave me another cute little chihuahua puppy and I guess I just had to name her Lucy.
Well, 9 years ago, she gave me one more of those cute little chihuahuas and she became Desi Lu for obvious reasons.

I have one that was originally named "DOG" aka DeeOhGee. Her previous owner (my stepsons father in law) had shortened it to just "YoGee". My wife started calling her "Yogi"...which is what has stuck. The
dog answers to them all.

This is her...135 lbs, 29" tall at the shoulder, PURE LOVE!! (Taken on my daughters iPhone and posted using Instagram)

My granda got a new puppy. He called it 'puppy'. When I asked what he was going to name it he replied "Not sure....it hasn't shown what a good name would be yet....so for now it's puppy"

15 yrs. later it was still 'puppy'

That's cute. LOL

My former neighbor had a butterscotch-colored mini-poodle named "Matches" because he *matched* the carpet!!

One of my daughter's has a golden retriever mix named "Chance" - as in "second chance" since he came from the dog pound :-)

Our previous Golden, by best friend, was actually a Christmas gift to my wife. She named him Murray. His full name was Murray Christmas.

I still miss that guy.

Our current Golden is named Riley. If you knew him, you would think the name fits.

The dog we got on purpose (Mini Schnauzer) is registered as Mystic Silver Moon. We even called her that. Once. Since then she's just been Misty.

The dog we did NOT get on purpose (Mini Schnauzer mix) was rescued by a friend. We cleaned her up good. Got rid of the mats, the fleas, the stink. Full round of shots, regular meals to get some weight back on her. The plan was to give her to DW's grandparents, and we didn't want to name their dog, so we just called her "the newbie." The plan didn't work out...and Newbie has been with us for 3 years now.
