I wouldnt rely on that the next time a dog gets bitten. If the owner sues you for vet costs, you wont like it a bit. It will probably sting every bit as much as your dog's bite does.
Well if I have learned nothing else, I have been reminded that my perception of my relationship with my dog is just that, MY perception. I always stay at parks for weeks/months, sometimes entire seasons...like many contractors. So over the years I have always had owners/managers who had no issue with my dog being off leash, much less tied up while I was home. But that is not the rule here, and I have to adhere to the rule HERE.
So..while I shake my head at anyone who thinks letting your dog spend the day in the sun while you are on conference calls 10 feet away is leaving a dog "unattended"...I do not own the park, therefor I do not set the rules!
So some of you are saying his dog was left unattended because he was outside the trailer and owner inside.....maybe he was going to the bathroom or getting something to drink. So you're saying he can't do that unless he brings his dog inside. Was the dog barking, growling at the owner or people next door? If the dog is just laying outside and the RV door is open..not unattended. There are so many RVers who leave their dog inside and go out and about....that is unattended. Don't get me started.....I've been to so many campgrounds where the kids are more of a problems than dogs laying outside.....campground owners never seem to get around to them.
So far I have not been bitten by a child on a chain or had a child poop in my yard. But I do agree that he broke the rules no matter how you view them.
I agree it is a dead issue, but I also thought he was told (more than once) that the rules were no dog left unattended outside on a chain and he did that.
If that is the case, he did break a rule.

Yes, I did break the rules. I was tol to leave NOT because of my dog, but because I broke the rules...twice. Well, more than that...jsut got caught and warned twice.
Anyway, I see that I was wrong. These parks are huge money and insurance is not cheap. Even though my dog would never bite...they do not know hat. And I totally agree with Gwinn1952.
So...yes the horse is dead...but I admit I was wrong so lighten up!!
