Bought new tires for my truck, 20in 10ply Goodyear AT. These are the same make and model that was on the truck when I bought my truck in 07 Its a 08 crew cab king ranch long bed SRW. Im getting around 60miles out of the tires this in my third set. When I bought the second set in 09 it cost me round 800 for four. When I went to price ck for the new ones (same Place)... freaking price of tires were 1500 bucks. Holy $%^t they double. He was telling me that in April they are going up 15% so thought I pass it on if you thinking about tires I would not wait.. ART

Those 20" rims are what's causing the tires to bite you in the butt.

That's almost $400 per tire. Yikes!!!! Time to switch tire brands, and supplier....

Motorhome tires are not getting better either. What used to cost $125 for 16" rims - 235/85R16E all steel tire in 2000 has gone way up. In 2007, I replaced two tires with Michelin for $158 each, that was about what I had paid 1 year before. They say the cost of oil increased the price (increased raw materials and shipping fees of raw materials and shipping the new tires too) but now it is $357 for each tire! At Wal Mart.
At least you are still getting 60,000 miles out of them. My nearly new looking tires I installed in November of 2001 have only about 30,000 miles on them, and must be replaced before I move the RV again. I am also looking at replacing my 2005 pair of tires, and the 2007 tires will reach 7 years old in only 2 years, so I might as well be looking at 6 new ones at $350 each or 15% more after April. My 2007 tires barely have 4,500 miles on them!

Wow, you guys are paying a ton for tires there. Recently (about 2 months ago) I bought one new LT285/75-16E BFG AT at Discount tire for the F350SRW. Cost was $250 for the tire, including mount/balance and tax. This price is pretty close to the price I paid for the same 2 BFG AT tires about 4 years ago, in the same size and load range.
Recently, I bought a pair of new tires for the Ranger, at $140/tire. I came back about a month later to buy another pair of the same tires and the price had gone down to $118/tire. These were General Grabber AT-2's in LT27x8.50R14C size. The truck drives much more stable and firm with the stiffer side wall LT-C's than with the previous, mushy side wall P205/75-14 passenger tires it came with stock.

I work for a company that uses many of the same materials that the tire companies use. We are on allocation for many resins, rubber types, and carbon black. Old supply and demand story. Randu

I thought I was the only one with this tire dilema. I need 275/70/18's and average priceing is $1100 to $1200 plus. I was thinking about using my spare and buying 3 of the same..$869 total to do this is the best price I got. But they are Continental TR's..Because of the weight I carry I wanted Michelins..$1200 is the best price.
What I can't understand is all the online companys are more in the end then local guys. So how do they exist?

I just bought a set from the local salvage yard, for my HHr. I picked them up for $150 set of 4. They are about 80%. New at the dealer 500. They wreck trucks too. You have to be willing to wait and keep calling around. It took me 6 mo to find these. HHrs run a bit of a rare size. I would guess truck tires are more common.
