Where were you stopped and why? Under the rules of the road generally when you are rear ended it will be the fault of the person doing the rear ending. However, those same rules don't always apply to the insurance companies. For example if you were double parked blocking a roadway and got rear ended, although the police report may blame the rear ender, the insurance company may say 80% his fault and 20% your fault for stopping where you weren't supposed to stop. And also the insurance company does not have to go by what the police report says if they don't agree with it.

I have had three claims with Progressive and all were handled promptly and courteously. Two of the claims were $2000+ and I had a check in-hand two days after the claim.

The other guy must be claiming "Comparable Negligence". Is Progressive your company or his, or cover both of you?

I don’t know if emailing is quite as effective as calling. It might take a while to get through but you have to keep on it. These times always make you wonder whether you chose the best motorhome insurancebest motorhome insurance policy. But hang in there! Hopefully, they’ll contact you soon.

Progressive did us very well, one day after our accident it was in the shop at Lazy Days and was being worked on. Great service by both Progressive and Lazy Days in Tampa.

I was asked to reply again to this post.First progressive is the motorcycle's insurance. I have state farm. On the 26th it will be a month from the accident. The person on the motorcycle now is claiming that I ran into him. But before I changes lanes I saw him in the center rear mirror and it was about 153 ft from were he the skid marks start to were I stopped.I am in Az and live near chicago. Am I glad that I can still tow the car. I have desided to let the insurance take care of it and plan on going home in about ten days. If it goes to court I believe one of the insurance companies will pay for me to fly out. If this was in chicago he would pay but different rules in Az. I have talked to about six people at state farm and three at progessive. Wish I knew what is going to happen but will wait and see for a while. I know the repair will cost more near Chicago but that should be their problem now.

Hit in the rear----I would have had an ambulance chaseing lawyer on this deal the minute they half stepped. Give me a break----hit in the rear is hit in the rear and lawyers love it.

I had Progressive insurance on an old motorcycle. The engine blew so I cancelled the insurance. A few days later I get a letter from the "DMV Audit Dept". They made me show proof that all my other vehicles we're insured(they we're). Very sneaky Progressive. Bet you wouldn't think that they would rat you out to the DMV. I know it was them. Never again Progressive. Wouldn't go with them if I got it for free.

Some states now require insurance companies to promptly notify them of insurance drops, for whatever reason.
