John Steinbeck's "Travels with Charlie" a must read for every rv owner. Great for a rainy day or a lazy day.

Looks like I am going to have to get that book. Wonder if it is on kindle.

Yes, it is! Check Amazon Kindle. $9.99.

While I enjoyed the book thoroughly and have always liked Steinbeck's writing, I actually preferred William Least Heat Moon's Blue Highways as a travel inspiration. Both are worth reading and both excellent writers.

Mountain Directory
Next exit
"Moon" or similar campground guides for the state(s) we will be in
Trailer Life & Woodalls
A Good 50 state atlas/map.... Hard to find good ones anymore!
smartphone apps for rest stops, fuel, camping etc.
Microsoft streets and trips

And then we stop and pick up info on campgrounds or things to see/do where we stay at or are interested in and file them at home by state for future visits.

and or course "travels with Charley". For those interested, public libraries that have ebooks to loan likely have travels with charlie.

I have found that the best "book" I carry is a smart phone. As long as I have a signal, any information that I could possibly need is at my fingertips.

Haven't read "travels with Charley", but I did thoroughly enjoy "Blue Highways". I found it was an excellent read. I will be reading "charley" in the near future.

I was just wondering what RV Books do others carry in their RVs. I ordered the Corp of Engineers book (very hard to get, always sold out). Also, the RV Bible. I have a book on boondocking and of course Next Exit and the latest Woodall's Campground Book.
Any others I might want to add?

None, just my Laptop and Verizon AirCard.

Manuals for RV, DeLorme Gazetteers, bird book, tree book and whatever we may decide to have to read for entertainment. Oh, and somebody gave me this year's tide book so that's aboard right now.

We have our laptop with us and such but I enjoy holding a book and reading it as we travel. I have a Kindle and enjoy it but sometimes a book is better.
