Ban - Tire Threads!

Due to multiple (admitted) Moderator deletes, the continuity
of any discussion - no matter how rational, or polite - is lost.

If nothing else - any and all viewers should keep in mind, the
Moderator deletes, closes threads - at his or her whim.

Doesn't matter if it's good, bad, or ugly.

Easy "out" is: - "It's gone off topic"

It's noteworthy the number of posters who start TIRE topics that genuinely belong on the FIFTH WHEEL forum - on General RVing Issues, or the Tech Issues forum.

Also the various posters who leave the Affinity forums for Escapees,
even with the same IDs (as here) - including some of the "experts" with blogs & web sites.

No doubt this will go "poof" also, LOL!

Would you be speaking about a particular conversation? Or just in general?

Why would a tire discussion involve ONLY 5th wheels? Just curious as MOST RVs have tires and the ones that don't ride on a truck that does.

For some reason, it seems most tire threads start on on the Fifth Wheel Forum, ( just like this one did)...don't know why, but that seems to be the case.....If they start on a particular forum, guess they stay there until done, or, uh...deleted/closed....

Due to size, weight, higher miles traveled and manufacturers building to max ratings of ST235/80R16E tires, the tire problems are many with 5th wheels running on tires that have not keep up with the product they are installed on. AND this is the fifth wheel section!!!

Of course the same issue is occurring with boat and horse trailers.

Barry (capriracer) might have been able to bring some new info to the subject, hopefully he will give it another try and everyone will sit back and let him post.

I sent him a PM asking him to give it another try!

Chris

I would think that tire specs and problems can be 5th wheel unique. Weight wheel size and high weights of the 5th wheel are not prevelent for the TT. An OP could want the input of a 5th wheel owner.
Looking at the subjects of the posts, not many are 5th wheel unique.

The main thing is that anyone who doesn't want to be involved in these tire posts should not open them up and give a response. Everyone else should enjoy them.

Well then that will make for great discussion, is that all you got? I stay out of most tire debates except to help folks find a trailer tire that is reasonably made. It is one stupid rule by the way
