Soft, strong, septic safe, and can be found just about everywhere. What you don't want is paper that will jam into the slide valve when you close it. Most slides are easy to replace, a few are a real PITA.

Williamh wrote: Sometime back, I was at grocery store or Sams club type store and saw some toilet paper marked "safe for septic and rv use". Recently I have been looking at different stores and cannot find toilet paper marked for rv use other than that found at Walmart in their camping section or at a camping dealer. My question is does anyone know what brand of toilet paper can be used in RV's or marked for RV use. I am concerned about the paper disintergrating and or cloging the tank on my Motorhome. Thanks for any help in finding this.

If you are unsure of a certain brand, take a few sheets of whatever brand you want to check and put them in a large gallon sized pitcher. Let them sit overnight. Some time during the next day take a look. A good septic safe brand will have broken up into kind of a mush. I found one of those environmentally safe 100% recycled brands that did this. I forget what it was called mother earth or earth safe or something along those lines. One roll cost as much as a 4 pack of Scotts basic 2 ply. If when you check the sheets are still together, give the pitcher a shake or stir up the water a little (this simulates adding refuse to your tank). If the sheets brake up then it is septic safe (Scotts basic 2 ply will and this is what I use), if the sheets don't break up then don't use them. Hope this helps you out.

Most TP is safe if used sparingly.

We use any brand that is not the "John Wayne" type of TP. Never had an issue.
