Woohoo, finally sold the house after being on the market for 8 months and now we can get on the road. Signed contract today, just waiting for appraisal and all the other stuff. Wife will work until her contract expires at the school in June and no more lawn mowing, home repairs, unruly students, just the country in the windshield. I thought it would never happen, but looks like we are on our way. Can't wait, hope to see you all out there somewhere. If you see my old red and white 1st Gen Dodge give me a wave.

Congratulations! Buddy of mine would have loved to sell his house in "only" 8 months, as he's at 18 months and counting. Bet the end of the school year won't get here fast enough! Happy trails!

Hi,
Congratulations!!!! I'm very happy for you and your wife. I can feel your excitement all the way to my house. LOL. I know you will enjoy traveling around this beautiful country of ours at your own pace. No we don't full time but we try to get away during winter snowbird season for a few months. My husband needs to return home every few months to tinker in his workshop and then it is hard to get him on the road again. Safe travels.

Congratulations to you!
Last January, after 12 months on the market, we sold and lost our behinds. However, just talked to our realtor yesterday. He said, he'd probably list our house at $20k less than we sold it for now to move it. House that was a 'comp' to ours in our neighborhood just sold (with no plumbing because the copper thieves got in there) for $40k less than ours.
Bottom line, be happy you can get your house sold and enjoy the freedom.

Congrats! Guess that's real good news in this market. Hope you feel the relief that we felt when we pulled away from that sold house on March 9, 2006. We workamp a lot and we are grateful. Have no plans to settle down until we have to. Safe travels! My 2 cents, don't try to see it all the 1st year, plan for emergency repairs and have fun!
