I installed a floating laminate flooring.
The thickness is 12mm (about 1/2"). No problem with the slide.

For those out there who have made the change from carpet to hard flooring, have you noticed a change in road noise while travelling? I'm in a DP and don't have engine noise. I'm considering tearing up the carpet in favor of lino or hardwood, but I am concerned of noise.

I replaced the carpet in my '06 Diplomat with laminate this past year. My slide goes up and over the laminate, so that's not an issue in my coach. Not all slides do that, however. I do not notice any difference in road noise with the laminate. I did put a thin (1/16") pad under the laminate but I doubt it has much noise cancelling property. The laminate is so much easier to clean and for those who think laminate is "cold", throw rugs are the answer. The only ones that don't like my laminate is my dogs. They "Scoobie Doo" on it when they get excited (another reason for throw rugs).

I put the allure flooring down and the slides do not touch the flooring when I put them in or out. We have a 2005 Georgie Boy Landau.

You put the slide slickers down just before pulling the slides in and pick them up as soon as the slides are back out. We use 4 slickers on a 16' slide. All 4 are easy to stow as all 4 stacked together are about an inch thick.

Thanks everyone for all the variables in flooring. We have decided on a combination that fits what we want to acheive from all your differant products used that worked for everyone. We will have this done by the end of March (hopefully)as the temp warms up a bit consistantly. I will try to post some pictures of the finished project soon after. Thank you Mac
