I am planning on removing my stove oven and putting in a 3 burner cook-top. I would like to have my portable ice-maker where the oven is now, plus more storage. I have a convection/microwave and no longer need the oven.

Dare I mention meat loaf....
Love my meatloaf made a scratch meatloaf, mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy while dry camping at Sauk Campground back in October on the Fall Colors Rally. The oven, the stove, and even the microwave (Ran out of burner space) all got used that evening .
There's two types of chefs in the RV World.
Those that Cook and those that Reheat. The ones that cook are the ones with the oven .

Photog,
Never had a convection/micro, so can you cook pizza or meat loaf in a convection, and still get the "crunchy" bits?
I am thinking, We would like one for the Avion, but do I spend our money on that first or on an Engel Fridge/freezer.......
Thanks for the information.

In past RVs we rarely used the oven so we decided not to get one in our new truck camper. IMHO, it's a waste of space and the additional weight isn't good either if you never use it. We haven't missed it yet and probably never will.

We also removed the oven. I am wondering what "portable ice-maker" you are using?
Would not be without one. Its always used, But saying this so many are moving on to the new Convection microwaves these days. Never used one but think our next one will have both.

In my view it comes down to Electricity.
If you always have it or are willing to listen to a generator then a microwave will do.
We don't always have Electricity and hate listening to even our small generator so the oven is used a lot.
When I'm alone in the camper TV dinners are better than my cooking.
Did anyone who loves the storage space where the oven would be, think of the storage space they would have where the microwave oven sits ?
We love to boondock, a microwave is worthless unless you want to run the generator which quite often ruins the ambience that we were looking for when we camped there.
Love the oven, some items we pre-prepared and some baking fresh on the spot. Would definitely not remove it for the space, we carried twice what we need anyway.
Have a great camping trip, on grid or off grid.

I bought mine at Target last year when it was on sale for just under $100.00. I needed it for my mom while she was in home hospice. Since she has passed, one of my winter projects is to remove the stove/oven then replace with a 3 burner cooktop and storage cabinet under for the ice-maker and other items.
This is the same machine that I installed in my Class "A" and made the same stove/oven to cooktop conversion along with replacing the microwave with a convection/microwave. That worked great for the three years that I used it before selling the coach last year.
I do a lot of camping at veterans venues/reunions and I have to keep by comrades, especially those rowdy paratroopers, loaded with ice for their drinks. ;0)
