I guess I'm guilty of also thinking that because they are Amish that quality workmanship is in their DNA.

You need to take clear pictures showing the problems or potential problems and make sure to throw a dated newspaper in the shot to show the date of the pictures. (the date on the pics from your camera will not hold up in court) anyway with the pictures saved away wait till there is a problem and demand the proper repairs. If no results take them to court, there is not a judge out there that has not purchased a bad or poorly made product. He or she will almost decide in you favor. Of course this is a last resort that nobody wants but this has worked very well for me in the past. This is clearly a "manufacturing defect" leaving******under the roof skin. I went up and looked at my Coachman and there is nothing visable but the seems, by my old (1993) Fleetwood motorhome had some loose staples under the rubber and they are still there today?

DEJA VU! Sorry I am late to the party here. I guess it's because it was posted in the 5th Wheel section and I do not normally check out that forum. I had the exact same problem with my Starcraft TT. Starcraft is owned by Jayco and at the time my unit was manufactured it was made on the same line (Starcraft has since started making their trailers in their own facility.) Anyway, I posted a similar issue here.
I was concerned about the roof near the sides where the membrane wasn't laying completely flat on the roof. I took the unit to my dealer and they were able to get Starcraft to cover 100% of the costs. I have pictures that the dealer gave to me showing the steps they took to fix the problem. It was a major repair. They told me that it was a manufacturing defect in that the aluminum siding was an inch higher than the roof and that's what caused it to stick up. I can't imagine that the roof will be able to sustain that stress and stretching long term. Fortunately, my dealer was able to work directly with Starcraft and I never had to get involved. The only issue I heard was Starcraft felt that it would not take as long as the dealer quoted in labor hours and that caused a little delay but it all got resolved eventually. PM me and I will be happy to share the dealers pictures documenting their repairs and evidence of a work order (if I can find it.)
I was less concerned about the staples. I wasn't about to make a slit in the membrane to dig it out. The only reason I worried about the staple is that it could eventually poke through and cause a hole. I thought it makes more sense to just watch it and see what happens. Why make that prophecy true by doing it yourself? Anyway, good luck!

I could probably live with the crud under the membrane but that construction of the edge concerns me,don't like how that is looking at all.Good luck.

Cruz-in,
I also agree.., based on the OP's photos and his inspection results of other Jayco models.
It sounds like the OP is attempting to get Jayco to re-consider their initial response to the problem.

I laugh at these quotes from the brochures. Hey, I like Jayco but even I'll admit when I've toured their facility all I witnessed was fairly young men (and woman) who were both Amish and regular folk running around with air-powered staple guns and routers. I distinctly remember them "free-handing" the window openings after laying on the tin siding on a Jayflight. This is all pretty typical so I'm not picking on Jayco...
I did see more craftsman-like folks making the cabinets and furniture. However, that was very limited and certianly doesn't apply to the assembly line folks....

I has 7 cabinet doors completely come apart after 6 months of use. I was wintering in Texas, and when I returned the unit to the selling dealership for repairs under warrenty I had 3 of them Duct taped together. The dealership was great and replaced all 7 cabinet doors along with the Kitchen table. In all I had 11 major issues after the first year, so far this year all is well only 3 minor issues to deal with.

we bought a jayco in 2010 and had trouble from day one. We also have probably 15 places with debris on the roof. We had it to our dealer in NE 4 times the first year and they didn't get anything fixed. told us our broke fireplace wasn't made for heating, i guess the thermostate and blower are for looks. and they ground off the 50amp. power cord because it didn't fit into the camper. Took it to SD once to be woked on. and it just got back from the factory after 7 weeks. things still not fixed properly, and came back with grease spots all over the carpet. we have talked several times with Jayco. Our dealer was much worse than the factory. Our warrenty will run out before we get to use the camper in may. had 27 issues addressed!

I guess the fact they have not closed their doors like some they must be doing something right sometime for enough to keep selling more units.
