Well, it's time for a new chapter in our camping life and this one involves a BOAT!! I sold the Hybrid to a local fireman who has three little ones and I'm sure they will enjoy it! With my proceeds, I purchased a 40' Chris-Craft and plan to rehab and do some cruising. Most of my time on this site was spent lurking and absorbing all the great comments, but just wanted to say thanks for making this such a welcoming and informative site! Happy Camping to all from the SS Jolly Time; Pickwick Lake, Tn.

Chuck is an old boat enthusiast so he could probably give you some good advice on your new toy. Have a great time with the new adventure and you don't need to abandon the site do to the switch.

Congrats! you do know what a boat is - "A hole in the water you pour money into" - speaking as old boaters. Have a great time! If you get up to Perryville, keep an eye out for "Knot-a-Yachta" - they have a Shamrock 19. Boat gets 99% of time and $$.

Major lifestyle change from a camper to 40' motor yacht! It will certainly be an "experience." The two happiest days in any boaters life are (1) the day he buys the boat and (2) the day he sells it!

Spoken like someone who has little to no boating experience.

I've been around boats all my life. I would sell my RV 10 times over before I would consider selling my boat.

I've bought and sold several boats over the past several decades starting with my Thistle (hull 1992), a couple of Hobie Cats, a J/24, and San Juan 28. I still have my lil' C-Dory cabin cruiser, all 16 feet of her(!), but she sits on her trailer most of the time.

I swear 90% of the boats at our yacht club never seem to leave the dock. My SJ28 spent at least 90% the season in her slip; and half a year on her cradle. Nice couple from Kingston, ON, bought her. I was happy!
