We complete the first year of living on the road soon and have volunteered at a National park, two state parks and worked for pay for 2 months at a myrtle beach park!! Love the life !! No set plans as of yet but going out west is the dream. This site has been a great help to us so thanks to all.
Congratulations on your fulltiming and travels! We plan on work camping when our time comes. How far in advance did you make your volunteer arrangements?
Enjoyed reading your blog... nicely done.

Congratulations! Glad you are loving it, we have been fulltime since March 9, 2006 and are working our 11th seasonal postion. We have workamped summer & winter, then last summer traveled from CA all the way east to FL, then all the way north to Niagra Falls. Big trip, but great. We are booked until December 2012 and plan to spend 3 months in AZ early 2013. No plans to settle down anytime soon. Safe travels!
We completed our first year 2 weeks ago. Before "roosting" for the winter we had logged 15,000 miles through 31 states. We're doing a month of volunteer work in Mar/April and then off to the Pacific NW for the summer.

Thanks!
We made arrangements one year in advance. We have November 2012 through
March 2013 already committed. If you want a Florida winter gig, register with the Florida state parks and apply to the park or parks of your choice a year or more in advance. Renew your state registration every few months to keep your application fresh...Good luck
Welcome to the party!!!I'ts our first year as well,if had known this retirement thing was so good i woulda' skipped the whole work thing all together and went right to full-timing!!

Congratulations! We are on day 212 (but who is counting?). Glad to hear there is still a light at the end of the tunnel and it is NOT a train. I am still in the "shock and awe" phase. DW, 24 y.o. and 18 y.o. cats and 1 y.o. coonhound took to it like gangbusters.
