These panels from ebay are a real good deal and I'd like to be able to use them but....I only have 15'6" of straight line on the roof and they are 16'5". Can they be cut? I realize the watts & volts would be diminished a little.

A solar panel that takes that much space for a supposed 124w output is a joke.

Unisolar does use more sq inches of roof space per watt generated

they are also lighter, work over a larger spectrum of light, and very hard to damage,

you can not crack them or get water leaks from weather, hail, or being stepped on, they are shade tolerant, with bypass diodes on each cell,
partial shading does not stop them from producing power

the 64 & 68 watt panels are ideally suited for parallel operation and can be used with a PWM controller iF so desired

I didn't intend for this to be an argumentative discussion on whether these were good (your definition) solar panels or what kind of controller to use. To me, they are a good buy. I only wish to know if they can be trimmed to fit. If so, I can squeeze alot of watts flat on my roof which is what I want to do.

No you can't trim them.

OK, thanks. I guess I'll have to wait until a size I can use goes on sale.

The 68w panels are 12.5 ft long
Can be found listing for around $160
Yes thats more per watt than the 124w panels

These panels are on close out. Thats why the reduced prices
Unisolar has switched to larger panels for grid tie

I have two of the 68w panels on order thru a local dealer for $150 each
Due to arrive in six days

You sure on that 12.5 foot figure?

The discontinued unisolar 68 watter I'm looking at is 122 inches, 9.3 feet.

I ordered one. If it is 12.5 feet, I'm sending it back.
