HECK! I am a work camper and most campground and employer have you do that before they hire you. If it is for more than a weekend; I do not blame them. Beats having the LEO's in the place constantly! Most likely done for safety, especially for the Little Folks (children). There is enough Bull to put up with as it is! JMHO!

Hey! As soon as they have your name and licence number or card number they have access through our cyberworld to get any info they want....same with the identity stealers.

I have nothing to hide and probably less in the bank so I'll just comply when it is really necessary.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

I'm cool with it. Credit check? Not sure why one is needed as folks usually pay cash or use credit/debit card that signals good or bad on the spot. I understand a background check more as they're trying to improve the type of user and possibly the safety of the place. That sounds good to me unless the application process was too time-consuming.

Park location could require a check on long term tenants as part of a "Megan's Law" measure. While most state laws require only that the offender report residence location, some localities have ordinances to shift the burden to landlords and employers.

In our state, a "background" check involves fingerprints, copies of 2 types of identification and a $39 payment to our state DCI. The results are returned in about 10 days. Its a state law, so I had to administer this to new employees.

Our friends own an apartment building adjacent to a city park. All applicants for tenancy are notified that sex offenders may not live there per state law, which says they may not live within x yards of a park or school. Application says they will do a background check to that effect. The notice acts as a time saving deterrent. In six years they haven,t had one convicted sex offender apply.

That is kind of weird. Good to know, in case I ever go to Texas.

We have made reservations at an RV Park in New Port Richey, FL for the
2012-13 season. Paid $30.00 for a background check in order to stay in the
park. Didn't bother us at all. The best part of that park is they allow
no dogs--even visiting and it will be a nice quite place to spend the winter
