Bought a new 60 gallon fuel transfer tank toolbox combo going to install using a low pressure electric fuel pump to transfer fuel to main tank on truck. My truck is a GMC 3500 dually with a 8.1 gas. I get 7-8 mpg towing so the extra fuel will make for once a day fuel stops. any one looking for a nice low profile diamond plate toolbox let me know. GBSB

I had a pump on a 60 gal unit on my first dually. Worked good so long as I "turned it off" when done. Otherwise it would overflow and dribble onto the street.I left a 15 mile trail of diesel all the way thru Phoenix to a RV park years ago, right into the parking spot ....

The next tank I bought was the 98 gal one from Northern tool. I hooked it up on gravity feed to the over flow tube on the truck tank. Works great. If i forget to turn it off, no harm, and "no trail"..LOL

I plumbed in 2 clear glass fuel filters in line on my system. One in the suction line to the fuel pump, and one in the return line back to the transfer tank. The are mounted where I can see them in my inside rear view mirror. Top one goes to the fuel pump, if it has fuel, there is fuel still to transfer. No fuel, tank empty. Bottom one is in the return line to the transfer tank, if it has fuel in it, the main tank is full.

I got this one from Northern Tool. Had trouble finding one for gasoline all for diesel. This one has gasoline and DOT sticker on the tag. $699.00. I'm going to put a lighted switch on dash for on/off of fuel pump.

.............Every tank I viewed on their website says basically it is not made for gasoline transfer into another vehicle ! Which means it cannot be used too transfer gas into your pickup gasoline fuel tank ! The 59 gallon Transfer Flow replacement gasoline tank for my 2003 8.1 dually is $1495 plus shipping and installation !
..............So , publish your part number cause I couldn't find one that was DOT acceptable . , jf

When I had my 2008 Ford V10 Gas I talked to RDS and had no problem getting a new sticker for the tank I purchased. I got the 40 gal combination tank/toolbox from Northern Tool. They told me that when the new tank arrived to get the serial number from the tank and call them. I did and had a new gasoline approved sticker in three days. I used a small Holley Blue 12volt pump to transfer to my main tank. I now use the same setup with my new diesel. Talk to RDS direct and you may not have a problem getting a certification sticker. I think that it is more common that diesel users use an aux tank.

Edit: The tank did not come with a down tube that allowed me to pump gas from the top of the tank. I called RDS and they immediately made one and sent it no charge.
