Sounds like there are plenty of experts who will provide you legal representation and/or pay any fines if you get a ticket. Personally, I agree with several other posters, for the cost and inconvenience of towing your golf cart from Canada, you can easily rent one at your destination. If you are going to be going to the same place for several years, buy another one, a decent used one can be had for less than $2,000, probably will cost you that much to set up your rig to tow the darn thing.

MPI Mallard, yes we haul a 2007 club car electric cart. We did not notice any differance in handling the added weight. I cant even tell its back there. The only changes I would make if I had another one made is I would put additional tiedown hooks and a storage rack for the portable ramps I use to load and unload our cart. The storage compartment in the rear of our camper for the power cord has a 120 volt receptacle that we use for battery charger for the golf cart.
Other than that we love this rack!!!

Hey cowboyroy could you post the pictures of the rack, we just ordered a new 5er 4ft shorter than the 2010 we had as I want to take my golf cart along if possible.

would really like something attached tothe 5er but was considering B training it on my utility trailer that I haul the golf cart behind my truck with.

The shorter the better when fueling on the road as they don't seem to design the diesel pump access for long units and they frown on us pulling into the big rig fuelling areas....

the definition of a "trailer" is that pivots at the point of attachment. since the Idaho Tote (and others) don't pivot they aren't trailer. they simply add an axle to the whatever they are attached to. If you put one behind your truck you'd have a 3 axle truck....not a truck and trailer. by adding it to your 5er you are just making it a 3 axle rig. perfectly legal.

Wrong! The definition of "trailer" is what some congress-vermin or pissant bureaucrat decides it is, and writes it into your State's revised statutes.

MPI Mallard, if you want to keep the weight down on the golf cart platform you could build it out of alum. Just a thought.

Not a bad idea, also thinking of putting the 4 batteries in the front storage bay,350 lbs up front should negate the whole thing!

I'd do that for sure. It would help with balance and frame stress.

I talked to a fella in Sebring Fl one time. He had bin pulling A double for 5 years behind his 5er.He said he'd never been stopped he said as long as it was a 5er you were good to go.He was pulling with a F 250 so nothing big . The only thing could be a problem is your drivers licenses. I have a class A and can pull doubles.

What do i have to change to see the pictures in the preferences . Jim
