Will the Banks engine and exhaust upgrades help fuel mileage at all on a 2012 E 450? I know its supposed to help performance and power. Does it void manufacturer's warranty ? If, not any suggestions for helping fuel mileage , other than slow down, travel light etc.

I have a Banks kit on my 2005 E-450 and have gone about 90K miles with it. Have never seen any improvement in gas mileage. I always tow a Jeep and the kit has provided better performance when climbing hills. The kit did not void the Ford warranty. However, Banks makes changes in the kit periodically so you might address the question to a Ford dealer. Be aware that if your Ford has problems there is a tendency for Ford service people to blame it on the Banks kit.

I have a full banks on our 2008 Ford E450 and have put 15K miles so far and can not say fuel mileage has improved but most certainly there is a difference in power when pulling a toad in the mountains. There are many factors that effect gas mileage, my partner averaged 8.78 mpg and I have an average of 7.49 mpg. I drive 5 mph faster. I knew when we purchased a motor home that gas mileage was going to be low so that was not a factor in purchasing or for adding the Banks.

According to Banks the answer is no on voiding the warranty but only Ford can give you an answer since they would be the one to cover your rig. To be honest if you are concerned with getting better gas mileage I would suggest you save your $$$ for the gas tank and skip the Banks and try some of the suggestions on this site.

My personal opinion is that the cost of a Banks system or any other add on you can buy will not save you any money on fuel. Setup of a rig, toad and driving habits are what effects the gas mileage along with where you are driving.

Had a full banks including trans-command on my former 2001 Conquest class c. I actually lost some mpg after install. Drove the rig about 7,000 miles before we traded - did see some improvement, particularly with shift patterns. Would I do it again. NO - changes did not warrant the investment. But, to each their own and I suspect that under certain conditions the added performance might be more noticeable.

Sorry but I always laugh when I see these posts about getting better MPG with a Banks kit. Even if they did give you a 10% increase it would be very hard to see that. Unless you track your gas milage over long periods of time you would not see it. Going from 7-8 mpg to 7.7-8.8 is going to be hard to see and it is going to take a long time to make up the money you spend on the kit.
Get a banks kit for the power which is what I will be doing.

I would not expect anything to give you a 25-30% increase in mileage.
