Got a new computer and have forgotten how to get a shortcut/icon on the screen to save time when I want to do a cleanup.

Can you help this ole codger out that has windows 7?

Click start>then type disk clean up in search>when disk clean up comes up right click> when they menu drops down hit send to> menu drops down that has desktop on it>

I'd use the free CCleaner instead. Much more thorough than Windows built in disk cleaner.

Go to Start, then All Programs, Then Accessories, Then System Tools, Then right click on Disk Cleanup, Then Send To, Then Desktop for short cut.

Here are a couple utilities to pick from toward the bottom. I personally use Glary Disk Utilities along with Wise.

These utilities will call your standard Windows programs when you do things like disk clean up. Makes it easy.

Windows XP you do it like this

Go to MY COMPUTER (I have an icon on my desktop but you may need to go to START and chose My Computer)

Right click on the drive you wish to clean up, and choose PROPERTIES (bottom item in the list)

The "Disk Cleanup" button is on the first tab that Properties opens.

Very easy to find, I never use it.
