We are in a 36ft Class A Motorhome towing a Porsche from Sedona AZ to Las Vegas, NV and although US 93 from Kingman up is shorter, we are being told it is a bad route and we should go on to Bullhead City and up US 95...anyone have recommendations? What is the problem with US 93?

Now that the Hoover Dam bridge is open 93 is now far more desirable IMHO.

I've done both but in an SUV. When the bridge was being built, I got acrophobia, just looking up! Last time I drove the bridge and didn't notice the height. So would likely go the bridge vs. the Lofland rte.

Thanks but what is IMHO and Lofland rte? Which is a better route, 93 or 95?

93 is a good 4 lane road with just a few miles of 2 lanes with passing lanes no more slow up going over the dam. Have fun

With the bridge construction complete, I would go the Hoover Dam route as it is quicker, but during the construction I always avoided it and went through Bullhead to avoid the hassle of crossing Hoover Dam.

IMHO, is in my humble opinion, and it is Laughlin Rte, a town on the river. I don't like bridges but would think 93 even with that darn bridge would be better. I know it's irrational to be afraid of bridges but most people wouldn't ride a submarine like I did for years. That thing looks like you'ed get the same view as you would from an airplane.

Agree with the 93 route over the new bridge below the dam. You will see a sign calling for high profile vehicles to use the left lane over the new bridge. You will encounter somewhat of a narrowing of lanes after crossing to the NV side, but not all that bad. Once you get through the Boulder City area divided highway, but traffic slows down somewhat at Railroad Pass where there's a traffic signal. After that clear sailing into Vegas....

Have a safe trip and welcome to Las Vegas..

Go over Hoover Dam. Its almost all 4 lane now and less mountain grades to deal with, not to mention a much shorter route. Going thru Laughlin you have to deal with 2 pretty serious grades going over the CO river and several small towns. As far as the bridge, if you are in a car you don't even know you are going over it because the side barriers on the bridge prevent you from see out. Not sure if you can see over the barriers in a MH but the bridge has nice wide lanes.

X-2 Fred, I like to stop at the Casino in Laughlin have a bite to eat, relax and play some games. #93 is faster, but 95 is my slower pace kind of road (#95) is in good shape also!
