had a club member that went to Red Bay AL to see the guy who paints motorhomes for Tiffin. They paid about $8500 for a 3 color paint job on a 2003 36ft Allegro, and got a new awning, slide toppers and the AC covers painted in the total price. He also saved himself $500 by removing all the striping and decals.

And that $8500 paint job will look and last just as well as the $20,000 job.

I too would recommend CDI in Forest City. I have seen their work. They have graphic artists that will work with you and you will get a one-of-a-kind paint job.

I assume that you have proof of that statement. There are so many different quality of paints that it is impossible to make any kind of a statement about how the cheapest paints will last as long as the most expensive paints. How is the surface prepped prior to painting on the cheapest paint job vrs a more expensive paint job? How thick is the coat of paint? How thick, or is there a clear coat that has UV protection? Choosing a paint job based on the price is OK when you are comparing apples to apples. The problem is that most people would not know a good paint job from a poor one and are just dazzled by the shine of a coach that was freshly painted. If you don't know the difference, by all means go with cheap. You will get what you pay for.

Rookie Rver here. Joe look into having your motorhome wrapped instead of painting. I've been doing some research here in TX and finding that wrapping will be several hundred dollars cheaper. One of the things I really like is there is no limit to what can be created when wrapping. Oh yes you can stay with the same original design the motorhome has when wrapping. The process is first done/created on computer which give you the opportunity to add your own magic. The wrap is guaranteed for the life of vehicle. And the samples I saw I could not tell the vehicle (including motorhome) were not painted.

Just a thought from Rookie Rver.........

You get what you pay for. Precision Painting also gets my vote. They have done interior work for us which turned out great. The day we went to talk to them they were closed. The owner happened to be there and gave us a tour. Very impressive. Many steps in their painting process and many coats of paint and clear. If your ever at a rally that they have their coach at go look at it real close and feel the difference. Our coach will be painted there when needed.

I like the one that JROOSTER suggested. Nothng like getting your teeth fixed while you wait. Does the same guy do one in the morning and the other job in the afternoon?
I don't know Bill, but it's called multi-tasking!

Just called CDI. Full body paint, new slide toppers, new patio awning, and clear front chip mask, for $13,500.... Done in six days, any style graphics, any color. Do you think that price is "ballpark" reasonable??

The six days might be optimistic. Weather temps and humidity can affect when paint is applied. Exactly what brand of paint is being used and what mil thickness are they going to achieve? How many different colors? The clear front chip mask may or may not be something that you want. Some have had problems with the mask peeling or fading. What is the guaranty on the mask, the body work, and the paint itself?

I wonder how many Prevost owners went to him for painting either their Coach or Stacker trailer, some of which are very expensive and match their Coach? Now you are telling us a $8500 paint job will be of the same quality as a $20K one? The paint job on my 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix cost more then $8500 and you claim it equals the quality of mine, I doubt it. Like someone else posted some are satisfied if it is just shiny, and do not recognize real quality.

I have viewed numerous paint jobs on Tiffin Products and compared to the old Travel Supreme MH's and now Entregra MH's I do not think they compare for quality.
